HORSHAM, PA – AMETEK Drexelbrook—the leader in level measurement technology—has added ThePoint RF Point Level Switch to its line of no calibration level measurement devices.
“RF technology is widely considered the superior choice for point level measurement. It is significantly more rugged than other technologies and can be used under a wider range of temperatures and pressures. RF switches, however, have long been associated with calibration, and users have sometimes opted for other technologies rather than deal with calibration and set point adjustments,” comments Dave Strelec, Director of Sales & Marketing for AMETEK Drexelbrook.
“That view changed with advancements in AMETEK Drexelbrook’s No-CalÔ technology that resulted first in the introduction of the IntelliPoint RF Point Level switch and now ThePoint, which retains the superior performance of the original IntelliPoint but at a lower cost,” he adds.
Simply Install and Use
“As with the IntelliPoint RF, ThePoint doesn’t require users to calibrate or adjust setpoints. It is able to detect the presence or absence of liquids, slurries, interfaces and granular material without adjustments. Simply install it in a tank and apply the power,” notes Mr. Strelec.
Since ThePoint recognizes changes in material, it is ideal for non-dedicated tanks that are used for a variety of products. ThePoint’s software continuously monitors an application for changes in composition, dielectric or conductivity and maintains a repeatable trip point on the probe. Other RF and capacitance systems require calibration adjustments when the process material changes.
ThePoint incorporates several other design features. A universal power supply automatically detects the input power source that eliminates the need to configure jumpers or choose from various wiring configurations. Time delay is standard and can be selected to delay the system from going into alarm or from recovering from an alarm.
